Sheffield City Region Launches Regional Growth Fund Roadshows
On March 13th, Sheffield City Region partners will launch a series of roadshows across the borough to capture interest from businesses with investment plans, the nearest one to be held at The Source @Meadowhall from 7.30am to 10am. The focus of the fund is to support projects and programmes that lever private sector investment, create economic growth and additional sustainable employment. Following these sessions, businesses will be invited to submit short expressions of interest which will be reviewed and assessed by an independent team. Applicants will then be invited to proceed and supported to produce full RGF applications. Rolls-Royce deal kickstarts the new nuclear build programme
The £400m nuclear deal between Rolls-Royce and AREVA, that will see the creation of hundreds of highly skilled jobs in Rotherham, is expected to have a big impact on the regeneration and perception of the region.Rolls-Royce will manufacture complex components and provide engineering and technical services for the first of two European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) projects to be built at Hinkley Point, Somerset where AREVA is providing the Nuclear Steam system. Once contracted, the work could be worth a total of £400m in revenue to Rolls-Royce for the four EPRs currently planned by EDF Energy in the UK.Rolls-Royce is investing in a 21,000 sq m facility on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham ...

Valley Eco-Vision project. The event will be held on Friday 16 March, 2012 at Kingswood Dearne Valley
(the former Earth Centre) in Denaby, Doncaster
between 10am and 4pm.
The event will
celebrate some of the great work that has taken place in the Dearne Valley
over the last year, including work with young people across the Dearne Valley as part of the Eco-Schools

Rotherham's Mayor calls in at Capita
