Rotherham-based BG Controls has won the Best Service & Maintenance Provider award at this year's Building Controls Industry Awards.

The company designs, manufactures, installs, commissions and services building management systems, helping create sustainable, green, energy-efficient buildings. That results in reduced costs, a service to the environment – and better workplaces for people.

Awards judges praised its "outstanding levels of care and commitment to its clients in the provision of customer service and maintenance contracts for Building Management Systems".

The company showed that it continued to meet clients' objectives in the past financial year by recording 92 per cent growth in its service division, BG Systems Support. It also reported that 93 per cent of its maintenance customers return to BG Controls each year.

BG Systems Support director Phil Bolus accepted the award at the Coventry ceremony on May 13.

BG Controls designed, manufactured and installed a natural ventilation solution for Fusion @ Magna including sensors monitoring the internal temperature and CO2 levels enabling a comfortable working environment for the businesses inside.

The company started life on Moorgate Road in 1995, but moved to Dinnington in 2007, where it now employs about 60 people. Its other operations, in Northern Ireland, the North-West, Midlands and South-East, employ another 20 or so.
