Rotherham based company EMSc (UK) Limited has recently completed the successful installation of its Powerstar voltage optimisation system at one of Greece’s leading fast food chains.

The Powerstar installation at a Goody’s Sykies store in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second largest city, was the first for both the retail chain and EMS.

EMS Cyprus division was initially commissioned to assess the Goody’s Sykies store for the suitability of a Powerstar voltage optimisation system. The test highlighted the level of voltage reduction and optimisation that could be achieved and the resulting level of savings in electricity consumption. Following the installation of the Powerstar system a 7.87% reduction on total electricity consumption was achieved, resulting in a significant annual cost saving.

Kyriacos Michael, EMS Cyprus business development manager said, “The savings at Goody’s Sykies have provided the restaurant with lowered electricity bills and reduced the store’s impact on the environment. It is becoming increasingly important for large companies to use technologies like Powerstar voltage optimisation systems as a part of their overall carbon reduction strategy in order to lead the way to a greener future.”

The Powerstar system also delivers savings in the maintenance and replacement costs of site based equipment as a result of matching the voltage more closely to the original design characteristics.
