Australian multinational company, Bradken, has established roots in Rotherham with a 12,000 sq ft unit in Templeborough, after relocating from Sheffield.

The global mining consumables manufacturer has headquarters in New South Wales and employs over 6,000 people globally with 34 manufacturing operations and service facilities throughout the world. The new base will be the regional head office for Bradken Europe and is due to open in September.

Bradken manufacture products including buckets and crawler systems to fit front-end loaders and hydraulic excavators, crushers and conveyor systems, rail wagons and a number of engineered products for the energy, military and construction sectors. The firm acquired Firth Rixson Castings Limited in Sheffield in 2006 and also took on a foundry in Scunthorpe.

The Sheffield office of Knight Frank oversaw the recent property deal and is also marketing the firm's former property.

Robert Stephenson, commercial manager at Bradken, said: "Knight Frank were a massive help five years ago when we initially relocated to Sheffield, so, when we decided we wished to move again, we had no hesitation in asking them to help us find the right property.

"We chose our new building at Dodds Close as we were looking to combine our office and warehouse facilities into one building and this new building provided the perfect solution.
